Another New Year, Another Resolution.

The new year is upon us and can you believe that we are already half way through January!?

Hands up who set a new year's resolution this year?  Keep your hand up if that resolution was based around losing those pesky kilo's, getting into shape or cutting out sugar or some other food group in the name of health? If your hand is still up, take a look around you, I promise you, you are not alone.

I used to be one of those new year resolution makers... 'this year will be my year' 'time to finally ditch this weight' 'you're going to be in shape by the end of this year'. January 1 is the day! But suddenly you find yourself mid January with not many changes implemented and you suddenly start finding the alluring advertisements for 7 day detoxes and 30 day shreds really appealing. I know this because this used to be me.

If yo-yo dieting was a profession, I would have been promoted to top of the rank! I spent 10+ years riding the diet roller coaster, and it wasn't as fun as you would think a roller coaster would be. I jumped from diet to diet and back again and after every failed attempt I got more and more desperate, more and more depressed and I found myself on the brink of giving up. I started to convince myself that I was destined to a life of being overweight and 'being that healthy fit chick' was just a nut I could not crack! 

Although I felt like I had started to throw the towel in, I also knew it wasn't a life that I was satisfied  with living, and more so than that, it wasn't a life that I wanted my children growing up and living either. There had to be a better way than what I had been trying. Surely it wasn't meant to be this hard!?

Two years ago I found that better way, a way that has lead me to heal my relationship with food, myself and  my health. I've regained my self confidence, I don't obsess about food, I have a stronger mindset and I've lost 30kgs. I feel better than ever and I want to help other women feel the same way.
